There is this chapter in transformative friendship, that talks about what is your joy. And the main thing that I took away is that friends can have common interests, but it is one step above when friends have interests in their friend's interest because they are their friend.

And i felt a little sad, because, I am not fond of other people's interests because they have them and I care about the peoples, generally. I think it only has happened quite rarely and... unfortunately it seems to me that I have kept those interests when the peoples are no longer there.

I dunno man, I wish I would be more fond of other people (and their interests) more.

To add on... I think perhaps social media can be used for good, but insofar as I don't use it for good (e.g post stuff that is good), the average or mean is really bad, so... really not ideal.

That is to say... Perhaps I should quit some social media and read more books. I've been saying that forever and hiding behind the fact that I have no ipad. LMAO. I am full clown.

I really dislike the ad-incentives that corrupt the whole system. But I'm too cheap to pay for content (actually idk why i don't want to pay for content, i definitely can afford it...).

I don't like ads. What if we banned all ads except back to banners. Would the economic incentives to build good things completely collapse? Or could it become like... i dunno, auto-paywalled like some sort of non-public internet. surely the internet has survived, in the early stage, without ads as economic incentives. so... maybe we won't have fancy graphics shit, but i don't want fancy graphics shit anyway.

I consume quite a lot of education / informational content. But I guess in the 5 years past it has shifted more to video from the written. Which I actually don't like. But it is not so easy to find good written articles that are not behind a paywall. Previously on facebook people do share interesting stuff and i thought that was quite a good curated feed but facebook ate too much of the advertising revenue and now everything hides behind paywall so... that sucks.

I find that video content is like... less good. like it stimulates the brain less. i think is because it gives less information per unit time, which is boring, this is even despite 2x speed. and also, perhaps more importantly, sometimes i feel like i can get away with playing it in the background and so don't give my full attention. sigh.

anyway that is all to crowd source is there good readable content.
